Facelift THE NEW AUDI A3 (2016 FACELIFT) – STILL AHEAD OF THE CURVE

Just been into the dealership to pick up a couple of things for the TT.
Facelift yellow S3 Sportback in.
Looks good!

Ok. Wow. Negative equity!!!! These used Rs from all these stupid lease deals have flooded the market and I'm having to pay. Car was 33k new, close to 34k. 17 months old. 18k miles. Being offered 20,500 and I have upgraded alloys and pano roof. So it's lost 14k in that time. Ridiculous. Should have got an Audi in the first place

I think I only know of one member on the TT forum that bought a TTS in Vegas Yellow... and they went for the full red leather interior to match...!

Contact Dean at GTi world in Fort Kinnard. He bought my GTi in July and I got a great price for it. He offers good money for low mileage gti/R and is very good to deal with.

Yup, that's exactly what that car needs to soften the visual glare. A pano-roof comb-over...

Spotted 2 facelifts yesterday - An S3 with roof rails, possibly Floret as above, looked stunning.

The other was (I'm guessing) an SE, brilliant black, small wheels - but what I did notice is that although these are now standard with xenons/LED DRL - the LED DRL was only the top line, unlike the 3-sided DRL line as per the Sline/S3 with LED headlights...

Yeah a slim led DRL.. At the top of the headlight unit, for xenon bulb headlamps they do the same on the TT and something similar on the A4

Yes noticed the non- S Line A4's have a dotted (individual LED) line.

Just thought it might be useful info for Sport vs S Line orders, I remember when the mk7 Golf come out a few people added xenons onto cars thinking they would come as per the GTI/D with the U shaped LED DRL, however turned up with xenon main lights but halogen DRL!

Interesting, Ara Blue has been available to order in Canada since July but will not go into production until week 45 of 2016. Could it be that there has been a large interest shown in the UK to have this colour included, as only Germany, Canada and the USA had this colour option before and only on the saloon in North America.

In the French configurator, Ara Blue has been available since June, and not only for the S3, but also for the A3.

Ara blue is also available for the A3 in Ireland.

Definitely not a S or RS exclusive color.

I know this is going to sound super standard, but I'm looking at maybe putting a order in for a black edition. Would glacier white be way to normal for a black edition? Haha

I have Glacier White on my black edition and it looks incredible tbh. I wouldn't pick any car such as Black/Sepang etc which swirls to hell due to the thinners they use these days (thanks EU) and the constant scratches you will get by living in the UK where they don't maintain the roads.

I have a PFL A3 in Glacier with BSP and I can recommend the combination. I know the BE has additional things but visually it's similar and I think it looks good

Sorry could you expand on that, how exactly do the thinners used contribute to swirls etc, and what colours work better as a result?

Since around 2007/2008 on EU cars paint has been a lot thinner and weaker as a result of chemical changes that have had to be made because of EU directives and regulations. This has meant since then, cars have been much more prone to scratch marks and swirls compared to their counterparts before this time.

It means owning and driving a black car (personal experience with this) is a horrible experience for someone who likes their paintwork and clearcoat immaculate. Black (and dark cars in general) in the light show up these imperfections easily. You will notice hazing, swirl marks, scratches, etc like the below picture.

Lighter colors like white/cream and silver hide and mask this a lot better, and is the primary reason I chose Glacier White.

Can someone tell me part numbers? for 2 door hatch
thanks
If you find out the part number please right it hear with huge font. It is an excellent addition that my test drive car had but I cannot spot it anywhere.
I even asked online part shops that specialise at retroffiting but no luck.
