Can't help thinking that every new RS4 Avant looks softer than the one before, it's probably a better machine underneath, but for me, the looks of it is important! B5 for me first followed by B7.

They have changed the whole arch structure from what is known in RS world to more of a Subaru box arch shape, and its not different enuff i think from standard looking A4's.

I do like it in its own way however, but feel the RS should have more road presence like the previous B7 and B5 shapes!

Me too. They should've gone with a more blown arch like the rs4 and rs6, but atleast it's not missing them altogether like the rs3! The rs design team need a kick up the backside. Perhaps ASN should have a design your own rs competition and pass them on. I don't see how the same people could design the new TT concept I've seen and the current batch of rs designs. Or perhaps there's just too much compromise as the ideas develop.

Yes they copied Subaru

I know what you mean though doesn't look as wide bodied as it should for an RS

Maybe it'll be different in real life but if you took the rs badges off it could look like an s-line. Don't get me wrong it looks very nice but think jo said it right compare to a b5.

They need to get rid of them stupid Quattro arches because it just looks like a normal a4! It's like the rs6.. Beast it was but it just didn't look he part. B5 RS4 all the way! How much power has it got? If its got the Same as the rs5 then thats just silly.

I agree too, the C6 RS6 has the same problem really, as awesome as it is it's not immediately different from the A6 - maybe thats a good thing? I don't know.

Thats the way ive always seen it really, the RS6 is still a cool looking motor, aggressive etc but a bit more laid back for the slightly more mature gentlemen hence not as obvious with extreme wider arches etc but does it well.

Whereas the RS4 is flip side of that, with the show and the go to please that audience, seems like they're taking the fun out of it now!

I still prefer B7 chassis. Only 30 odd years till retirement pension lump sum until I can go and buy one outright lmao! By then perhaps the RS range will have tri turbo supercharged V10 10L engines. lol
