So is that a full downpipe? If so is it decated or a speakers cat?

I looked at that down pipe aswell a while back but its not the best fit onto the oem pipe work as its designed for the milltek full systems , which makes sense as its a milltek down pipe.

So on our cars then it goes

    Turbo - cat - downpipe - exhaust?

    My s3 was

    Turbo - downpipe - cat - exhaust.

They seem to have quite a collection of downpipes available in the states, I'm struggling to find one over here though.

Just foitted an 034 to mine, perfect fit. Also fitted the Milltex downpipe that i never bothered to fit when i fitted the rest of the system, fitment of both was spot on, given two non OEM parts.

did you fit to an exsisiting oem system or a milltek system, there have been numerous threads that the cat and down pipe fit spot on but don't fit very well to the remaining oem parts due to misalignment, can you clarify chap..

I fitted it to a an already fitted full Milltek system.

I fitted the Milltek to the OEM Cat and Downpipe, i couldnt be assed fitting the Milltek downpipe at the time due to the hassle reaching the bolts to the cat. So waited until i was changing the cat.

Wouldnt expect much in the way of hassle fitting to a standard system as it all lined up easy without messing with the milltek system that was already fitted. Its probably the reducer sleeve causing the issues as you might need to trim the lengths.

That looks about right to what I'm after. I can deal with standard system but that restrictive cat pipe has got to go.

Where was best price for the 034 pipe? Do they do the downpipe to go with it or does that have to be milltek?

    I got the 034 cat from Awesome-gti.

It will fit the standard downpipe aswell. The amercians rate changing the downpipe aswell, as they deem the biggest gains by sports cat and larger downpipe. You may be able to buy the milltek pipe on its own, but i'm not 100% sure?

You'll need a remap mind, as even with a lambda spacer, my revo stage1 was throwing a code for lamba, and a couple of times even put the engine light on until it was Stage2+ flashed.

How much do the US quattro downpipes cause issues regarding fitment due to having a steering column on RHD setups whereas the US models are LHD so have more space on the turbo side of the engine.

Im doing this at some point.

Problem is a good down pipe for our longitudinal based engines!

There are ebay companies out there that make pretty solid downpipes for our cars (mines quattro too) but its whether you want to go 2.5'' or 3'' thats the issue. 3'' is overall better but, its such a tight fit it might not be feasable.

Im currently getting quotes for custom exhaust companies to build me one.

Ive been quoted £1000 all in to build a 2.5'' turbo back exhaust (decat) straight through to slim line twin exit back boxes. With 4'' Tips!

    £1000 all in jeez
Probably about right for a custom 'zorst

I'm all about bang for buck, hence why I'm after a decat downpipe only.

Full system won't give that much of an increase in power I don't think

What if you get the exhaust guys to do your Quattro, then replicate the downpipe for 5 off.

They would sell easily on here , I'd take one asap

Yes. Thats the cheapest I could find too for a 'reputable custom exhuast shop'.

Love how everyone has different fram of reference as sadly, I stupidly think thats not tooooo bad a price.

Agreed, a custom exhaust wont aid HP better than your way. (Separate bits) I just prefer the idea of someone manufacturing one around my car.

    I know right! All tuners and after market specilaists ive experienced from North of the M25 are;

    Friendlier
    Cheaper
And seem to know their stuff a bit better :)

Yes please, some recommendattions would be very helpful! Ive searched loads some from around your way too so if you've had any experiences with any, please do share.

Yep, willing to travel to Birmingham.

Really? Do you think for a full de-cat system custom, it would be under £1k ?

Got mine done at RJ Performance, right by my house and I'd highly recommend them if you don't want to wait around, stainless steel 2.5 inch straight pipe turbo back single exit on ours £400, no backboxes but would of been same price with them so I'd imagine for your twin exit it'll be around the £500 mark. Finished mine in 2 hours! Here's a link to there contact stuff http://www.r-j-performance.co.uk/contact/

Then there's John Ashley, they do a good job too but will most likely want the car a couple days (which I'm guessing isn't much good for you unless you want to sleep on my sofa haha) http://jaex.co.uk/index.php?route=information/contact

I say you should go turbo back with no backboxes for performance reasons and the fact it will sound incredible, whichever way you go it'll make your foot want to be glued to the happy pedal.

Super thank you for the info. Im going to give both of them a ring.

Yes you are right, both websites seem a little naff but if their work and welding skills are good then im all good with it :)

Cheers, yes with my power aim, i dont think I'll be needing a 3'' decat and downpipe. Just 2'5'' all the way into the dual split.

Man, i'd love to go straight piper but think it would be tooooo loud. I'll ask 'em whats the least restrictive and loud slim line back box so that I can channel my inner hooligan when I fancy putting my foot down.

Haha, Thank you for the offer!! Apparently I snore so not good for you dude! Plus I may have a 'lady friend' ;-) up there.

What is the difference between the 2wd and Quattro down pipes? I'm looking into getting some engine upgrades started but when I had my mk2 Leon cupra stage 1 mapped it was mostly useless if grip conditions were anything but perfect so long term I'm thinking of doing a Quattro conversion and if I can use a Quattro pipe it might make things simpler later on.

it bends slightly different, aswel as the bracket doesnt line up how id like. i think i have a pic somewhere. i managd to make mine fit choping it and using some 30deg bends, its not ideal but works. i think im right in saying if you get a complete quattro system there should be no issues. my problem came from having a 4wd downpipe connected to a 2wd system.

Thanks for that. I cant seem to find the downpipe being sold separately anywhere now, also struggling to get a carbonio intake too. guess I'm a little late to the party.

No personal experience with any of these decat pipes but I'd be cautious when buying decats as quite often they're designed to go with something else; for example on my Starlet GT Turbo you needed a WEPR manifold to go with the WEPR decat. On the B6 side allot of people have bought decat pipes which are designed to go with a shorter exhaust too so they've had to have a new exhaust fabricated.

Can't see any point having one of these over either beating out the cat or getting an exhaust place to weld a straight pipe in anyway; same/similar price and you avoid any problems. Even replacing like for like on decat pipes I've had it where they're too long or short which has resulted in the exhaust leaking leaking or ending up lower to the ground and smashing every speed bump.
