I went to look at an A3 e-tron with pan roof and virtual dash, admittedly was a bit too uncared for to my liking, but as I was there I took it for a test drive.
I like the full electric drive and the initial pull, but OMG, how do you folks put up with the wallowy suspension and handling? Even in Dynamic mode the ride was too soft to give any reassurance.
The mpg was showing an average, long term, of 46mpg and the charging ‘cable’ looked like I’d have to lug a dumbbell about in the boot.
Given that I’d need to upgrade the suspension substantially and get a lower spec car for the same mpg and price of a 2.0tdi, I went with my head and purchased a 190bhp black edition Quattro with virtual dash, pan roof, B & O and alcantra heated seats, for similar money.
Such a shame that Audi couldn‘t sort the standard suspension out on these, because in theory they re just what I was looking for!
