temp gauge

any suggestions as to why the temp gauge isnt moving up one day and is fine the next then will suddenly go from 90 down a bit then back up, have my hunches to be the temp sensor but would like to see if any one had similar problem.

i did give the plugs a wiggle about on the temp sensor at the bottom radiator hose and the one one on the thermostat housing but didnt seem to make any difference, its a 2003 1.8t.

Change the temp sender, common fault.

cheers for the replies. safe bet so going to go to the stealers and get a temp sensor as it is doing ma head in, :icon_thumright:
