Guys looking a wee bit of help in narrowing down a fault/problem.

i have a 2004 A4 Avant (B6) 1.8T (163), I have a temperamental fault in that the temp gauge varies between showing normal temps when running to way over past the max, when the car is cold is still sometimes shows 90degs on the gauge.

Temps according to Diagnostics are normal.

Anyone else had this problem or similar that can shed some light ?

Cheers guys.

Change the CTS ( genuine VAG only).
The CTS 2 seperate outputs, 1 to the gauge, 1 to the ECU. It's common for just 1 output to fail, so I think the gauge output is goosed on your CTS, hence the temp reading normal on diagnostics..
