Tailpipe protection

Hi

I have just got a new car and the tailpipes look great at the moment. Is there anything I can apply for protection to avoid hard graft with metal polishes to remove soot and soiling?

Hoping I can use some body waxes I already have, but no idea if they are appropriate or if someone can make a recommendation?

I use my wheel polish which is poorboys wheel paste.. but not sure what level of protection they are getting like after a week they are black... last time left between washes (purely down to the weather) was about two weeks and the middle two pipes took some abrasive stubbing to get them clean.. pretty sure Audi use low grade stainless and was considering searching for some carbon fibre covers.. not sure if anyone sells them?

I used CarPro DLUX on mine. All they need now is a wipe when washing to remove the black stuff from the tips, no polishing needed

I use Planet Polish Wheel Seal and Shine on mine which helps. I had DLUX on my wheels which was epic so can believe it would be good.

What you got in the garage?

+1 for the Britemax twins as BH says. I use them after every clean of the pipes (I clean the pipes in between washes of the rest of the car as I hate the soot with a passion)....small amounts are all that is needed so they last well (my car is 15 months old).
Inner pipes are definitely worse and even with regular cleaning/sealing the soot can sometimes take a bit of work to get off.....

I was thinking about that. Off the top of my head:

Autoglym Aqua Wax
Autoglym HD Wax
Autoglym Wheel Seal
Megs Ultimate Waterless Wash
Megs NXT Tech Wax
Megs NXT Metal Polish (not sure if it'll leave swirl marks on my brand new tips - it seemed to do it on the old car)

If not I'll order one of the suggestions on here thanks everyone.

This was Peek, no scratches,
always rub the metal polish between your fingers, the more course it feels, the more damage it will cause,
Used Peek for a good decade, it was recommended by Magnex (back in the day)
never had a issue with marring with it.

I'd be tempted to try the Autoglym Wheel Seal. The reason being that anything designed for wheels has high temperature in mind.

As an aside I'm currently using HD Wax on the black plastic trim on my wife's VW Jetta with good results. I thought it might leave white marks but it doesn't. If you're going to try it do a small test spot first.

Thanks for that - didn't know HD Wax might be a possibility on plastic either. I'll test it like you said.

if they're from new then just wash them each week and they won't require anything other then your shampoo mix. You might get the odd spot but I just use a little touch of AG SRP and it takes them away while leaving the chrome with a great shiny finish.

Need some help and advise. Looking to seal brand new chrome exhaust tips on our MINI and have at my disposal Gyeon Rim and Britemax metal polish and sealant. What do you think it the best protection out of these two that I can apply?
