Swapping over gearknob and gaitor

hi guys

Hopefully you can help me with a bit of a predicament.

I've bought a S1 gearknob having seen people had swapped over easily. My s1 gaitor isn't the same shape as the original one in the s3.

I was wondering if it's possible to swap the s1 knob over to my s3 gaitor ?

As it looks like from the inner of the gaitor that the pins could be squeezed together to release the two ?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I did this mod to my S3, beautiful knob! You have to use the surround from your S3 with the S1 knob and leather boot. The four tabs at the bottom just push in releasing the knob and boot from the surround.

The gearknob is a work of art to say the least hah

Thanks for the advice. With enough persuasion i managed to get it out many thanks , I had been in a foul mood all night trying to figure out a way to get it fitted.
