Swapping A3 2004 Double Din Cage for 2006 A3 Single Din Cage

My question is, will this work, my friend has just bought a 2004 Audi A3, and it has a double din cage, in his previous car he just had a standard stereo meaning that he would much prefer to have the single cage that is in my car, whereas i just have the standard Audi concert and was looking at putting a RNS-E into my car so would therefore obviously rather have the double din, could someone please tell me wether this swap would work, i've worked out how to remove the cage from my car and guessing it would be the same. Help Appreciated.

Another question, I've heard the the cage can be removed without having to remove any of the glove box or underneath the steering wheel, dont suppose anyone would know if this is true

I wouldn't have though it'd be easily doable like that, I removed glove box and grab handles and still struggled

Haha, I'd love to see that because its likely to result in plastic bits all over the place
