+1 sounds like a diesel engine to me.................. if you open the bonnet, it will all likely be the big rattly thing in the middle.....

it wouldnt be boosting at idle.
fan may be catching on something or air con leaking are my guesses.

pumps on the n/s of the engine, run off its own 4 ribbed belt.

well it may be that the air con is at fault as when i tried the air con yesterday it did not blow cold, so, it could be a leaky air con rad as it seems to be coming from there, more news as it comes,
