I get a rapid clicking sound like a relay behind the instrument cluster for about 10s then stops. this happens every time I turn the ignition on or off.

Have you scanned and if so was it VCDS? If not, try to find someone with VCDS and scan it.

Found out it is most likely when they took apart the instrument cluster to stuff insulation tape in the esp mil and steering wheel led holes, fuckers, they damaged the speedo actuator. I’m trying to fix it. Got rid of the chatter on startup and shutdown but after a test drive the needle is stuck. So will have to strip it down again tomorrow.

So it looks like who ever sold the car to the owner I bought it from did some monkey business with the fault lights.

Unless you really know what your doing and kinda think you will fix it for good you might want to take it to one off these retrofitters @Ash187 or @NHN
