strange clunking noise from rear

Hi, I get the occasional clunking noise from what seems like the rear passenger side, sounds a bit like a spring . I can't make it happen, I've tried heavy braking, sharp left, sharp right turns. Even over bumpy roads it seems ok but then it just does it randomly. I've jacked it up, springs all seem ok, no wheel play, nothing loose. Boot is empty, spare wheel held in place.

Hopefully found cause. Jacked it up for a proper look and last two inches of bottom of spring broken off. Got to be this
