Hello,

My wife has an A3 8P TDI 55 plate which was lowered when she got the car.
Recently there has been a clicking noise happening. The noise happens when:

The car is stationary, if you turn the wheel front left to right full lock there is a loud clonk noise and you can see the wheel sort of jump (as if something is getting caught on another piece of metal- unfortunately i haven't been able to pinpoint this)

Also when the car is in motion, while turning left or right the clicking metal on metal noise starts and gets faster and slower depending on speed of car (car goes faster, so does the clicking noise, if that makes sense)

Can anyone help?

Constant repetitive click when moving and turning? If so I'd check cv joints

Yeah sounds like it's most likely the cv joint. When it goes it doesn't tend to make a noise unless you're turning. If say you were on full lock just turning in a circle the noise of a bad cv joint would be a constant repetitive click

Agree with ^this

Another test is reversing in a circle just shy of full steering lock.

Sounds stupid but do check all your wheel bolts are tight. Was looking at a friends car and we were both convinced it was CV joint, but when investigating it turned out several wheel bolts were very loose. The sound was identical.
