Stock / S-Line suspension difference?

Good afternoon,

I have an Audi A4 B8 from 2008 with basic, stock suspension. One of the shops in our country wants to sell a complete S-line suspension which I am interested in. It is important that I live en Europe and I have a european car. I am looking for the european S-line suspension (-30 mm, 1.2 inches)!

I would like to know the following: Which parts differ the S-line suspension from the basic stock suspension? I would really aprecate it if someone would specify it in detials, like which part numbers I should looking for.

Are the springs and shocks different? Or is there anything else? OEM item #'s will be nice to know as well.

This subject is full of confusion.Most of the differance is in spring height, and there are a lot of variants mostly weight based.I would find another sline same build/year, and compare whats fitted to that to yours by VIN number at a dealers.(Must be identical as there are two variants of the 2008 build)This will give you an idea of what bits are differant.There are too many companies giving conflicting specifications.Unless you want coil overs or complete kits from the like of Eibach etc.Good luck.

Is it worth to buy complete kits from these comanies? What would be the cost to give my car OE S-line look and feel? What company would you advise? Thanks

I couldnt advise as i havent done this, although i do have eibach front and rear anti roll bars fitted which have helped a little on the roll.when i bought my 2009 sline, i could only have a 20mm drop with my 19" wheels and not the 30mm.Amazing how much differance 10mm makes!!!I wasnt prepared to replace the suspension for the sake of 10mm....although its tempting.The americans are mental about this subject, and there are plenty of posts on audizine.com that discuss coilovers, lowering etc.I personally think that an email to eibach or stasis would help, but id go the oem way.Hope someone else can add further.You could try contacting dpm performance on this forum whos a site sponsor ( scroll down towards the bottom of the forum subjects)

I wouldn't spend money on Audi suspension to lower the car. What's the benefit in paying Audi prices when after market suspension specialists undoubtedly have more choice and likely better performance.

If you're thinking that fitting Audi parts will make a difference to your warranty position then it won't. If it's not got the parts fitted the same as it left the factory then it'll be the same as using a 3rd party product.

As mentioned above it's not easy to spec as a car with lots of options with have different parts to a low spec car due to the weight.

i found that when i looked into it the audi prices were not that bad....fitting by audi is another matter
