Still in Love with the RS3 or wanting something else?

I enquires about the Miami blue at Leeds Audi but I think it’s overpriced and told them so 51k and it’s a 1 owner car with 4,500 miles and a year old! Surely it should be mid to low 40s interest rate was also 9.9%

Not really

I know an independent that recently sold a similar Miami blue car for very similar money.

Someone somewhere will always buy it.

Did you appraise the whole showroom while you were there ?

Only had mine a few weeks and I am quite obviously still in love. I am quite disappointed as to at how little the Audi Connected service has come on since my 2013 8V S3. On my 2016 M2 I could open and lock the doors, see its location, ventilate the car and send destinations to the Nav from Google Maps, all this RS3 can only do the latter. All in all it is just a better car than the M2 and I can't see me going back to RWD again. Next Stop...... TTRS ;)

I appraised the cars I were looking at yeah! My mate traded an rs3 in that was 18 month old and they offered 38 and it had similar miles I think 51 with 9% apr is expensive for a second hand car

They ALWAYS buy cheap and sell high, and don’t seem to struggle for buyers most of the time, unless weird colour or massive spec

His loss then.....

He didn’t have to trade it in at Audi.

Plenty of performance car specialists will give more than the dealer.

He upgraded to another Audi and paid cash for his rs3 but yeah they then put his car up at 48

I reckon they will have paid 40-42 for this car and trying to make as much as poss on it I told him 45k and we will talk but he wasn’t having any of it

Now why would you want a porker when they don’t do Nardo :icon thumright:

I had an S3 saloon for 8 months - I have now had my RS3 for 9 months going on 10.

My S3 saloon was a lovely car but it didn’t feel special.

The RS3 - every time I think its becoming boring I put it into dynamic and hear the engine sing. And I immediately think that bar a V10 or V12 there isn’t anything that could ever sound as good... even I would question if those would.

My friend bought an M4 Competition pack and we parked next to each other and revved out the engines.

I can tell you the RS3 sounded significantly better. Louder, more bangs, more pops and not to mention the noise is makes when being driven unlike the BMW engine which sounds like a grumpy old Scottish man compared to my Micheal bubble singing RS3 (ok not the best examples but hopefully the point is taken.).

Yes the M4 looks more agreessive - but its also substantially wider and longer and less nimble.

Thanks chook, you've sold it to me...

I've never been a fan of the 'pops and bangs' and I never sit revving a car out, absolutely pointless imo.
I like my RS but it's a bit 'young' for me, a bit too attention seeking and 'look at me' so your reply confirms that I am now officially old.
As for the size, of course I knows it's a bigger car but I don't think there's much difference in weight as mine has the lardy pano roof and B&O and I have no doubt that the RS would drive better in the wet but this has been one of my things with it.
It's so good it verges on the edge of boring......unless you're travelling at jail like speeds or on track so I'm looking forward to driving a car that is less dramatic, quieter and just as quick in the real world.

This grumpy old scotsman will look forward to meeting Michael Bubble, whoever he is, on the road... :thumbs up:

The best colour IMO, love San Marino. Just class

Very similar to the Sepang blue of my Q5 and agreed, it does look good...

Particularly like the carbon bits inside and out on the M4 and just arranged to collect it on Wednesday . :thumbs up:

It is a mean looking machine. BMW do knock the socks off most things as far as alloys and aggressiveness go.

You p/x’ing RS3, or selling privately?
Or keeping for those snowy days

Part exing both. I was going to sell them privately but was offered a great deal on the M4 so went for it.

Again for the 4th time in 3 years, I went out to look at a different car and ended up with a totally different motor..

And I understand the rwd/awd thing but I was brought up on rwd, have ridden 1000cc sports bikes for 30 years and guess I'll drive accordingly.

Looking forward to the BM as I've never had one.. :racer:

Nice one, makes things easy, which is what makes it tempting to p/x if price is about right.

Fair enough, as you say, just drive to the conditions. Would love a M myself one day Some pics when you can after collection please?

I just wouldn’t get an M4. I know that it is a great deal - 0% finance; probably a big discount but there are other cars far more exciting as far as I am concerned...

C63S? Giulia QV? M4 seems so common... personal opinion anyway.

Out of interest @E15 what kind of deals are BMW offering at the minute?

I only have cars on PCP D0C and the deal for me was that I part exed both Audis, the RS is 11 months old and the Q5, 24 months old, no extra money down, 23 grand off a 73 grand car with a payment per month less than the pair of Audis together.
So as I don't need 2 cars anymore and as I would've had to have parted with a substantial amount of cash to off load the Audis and as there's a 0% interest deal on 4 series until Friday, it was perfect for me. The fact that the RS sat in the garage untouched for weeks on end and I was paying for it, kind of wound me up a bit so now I have a car that I'll use everyday and I'll get vfm from it.
I really liked the RS and the Q5 is nearly perfect for my lifestyle but the M4 is now here for the next 24 months...
In fact, I went into Audi for a new SQ5 and the deal offered was fantastic but the BM deal was similar on a car that was listed at 20 grand more.

It is interesting how you say the Q5 was perfect for your lifestyle. M4 clearly VERY different, but get what you are saying about one car sitting there for weeks. Sounds like you need an RSQ5 at some point

Problem with the M products and i have had a few is they flood the market with cheap deals, hence come resale the deprecation is pretty horrendous, the RS products tend to fair much better, not an issue if you are happy to keep the car for the term, but just and break out especially with the M4 and you are in trouble, take a look at the M3 cutters site for many tales of woe :), plus in the winter they only go sideways :)

Although I appreciate people's opinions and views, we're all different and want/need different things from a car and generally everything in life.

If I'd read this forum before buying my RS, I'd never had got one as it's pretty poor on many fronts so I don't care about residual values, whether it sounds better and the such. This continual reference to how an M4 will handle in the wet is just evidence that people probably can't drive a rwd car and need an awd to get somewhere in one piece.
I'm ok with rwd, as I am with fwd and awd in all weather conditions as I drive accordingly. Of course I've had accidents and crashes and hope I don't have any more so for me, I'm really looking forward to my new car even though it's a cr@p sounding, cr@p handling, waste of money which is gonna leave me in trouble ..

Now ask me if I give a f**k.. :yahoo:

I know. I have a great looking car but the first thing a few people have commented on when seeing it is "why are your brake rusty?". Embarrassing.

That does seem to be an “issue” with Audi’s. My Q5 is still ok 8k in.

Mate, as you say all opinions, and there will always be knockers, but plenty great views on here too, and generally way way better than most forums.

A cracking car, and I am sure you will love having your 1st M. I love all cars, and really enjoy reading about new purchases. Everyone has their own likes and reasons for buying a car, hence why there is so much choice.

Enjoy having some driving feel when you collect, and for what it’s worth I made it back up from Newcastle during the bad weather at the beginning of the year in the M2 with the MPSS tyres - not a drift in sight.
