I have an audi a3 1.4 tfsi 09.

I have bout an xtrons hu,4 speakers,a sub,amp and wiring kit so i have all the wires for the system.

My questions are...

I am going to be power my rear speakers off the hu and my front 2 and sub off the amp. How do I extend the cables ,that are currently at the lentgh of the front speakers ,so that they reach my rear speakers?

Also will i need anything for the stereo, ive seen alot about a canbus but dont understand wether i need a adaptor or not?

Cheers

Sam

Would it be wrong of me to assume that your first language isn't English?

I doubt you'll need a CANBUS adapter as your car is a 2009, although I may be wrong, someone will be able to confirm?

If you're going to be running your front 2 speakers from your amp located... I assume in the boot then you'll probably need to run new wiring to the front door speakers, the same with rears as they're normally powered from the factory amp.

No my first langauge is english I was just driving when I wrote that lol.

Thanks for your help.

Ok.

I know I need to rewire all my speakers but what wires will I need to connect the rears to my HU? Because obviously I am going to be using new wiring for the rears so what wire is it?

If your amplifier you have bought is a 4 channel amplifier then you can use it to run fronts and sub. If it's a two Chanel then it will only run the sub.

Your 2009 is can bus. You will need to get the correct facia, aerial adaptor and leads if it just a normal double din radio you have purchased.

Rca cables. Power from the battery. Remote turn on and possibly speaker wires (if 4 channel amp) will need to run down the car.

Make sure power cables a rerun opposite side of the car to any rca / speaker wires or will get noise.

Hope this helps.

My front speakers are powered by my hu with whatever cables. Im going to start running my rear speakers off the HU instead. What wires/cables will I need to extend the the wires that are already powering the fronts,so that they reach the rear speakers?

The rear speakers will sound better off there factory amplifier. This is due to oe amplifier having more power thna your h/u and the rear speakers are the wrong inpedance to run off your head unit. I would not recommend doing this and would never do it in a customers car at work and I run car audio specialist shop.sorry.
You will need probably 8-10 metres of speaker wire.(16 gauge will be fine unless big power speakers/amp)

Not many things make me revert back to my day job, indeed, I come on here to get away from it all.
But please, do not go posting on a forum website when you are driving, that's madness and you have just admitted "Driving without due care and attention".

@Jake 61 - I'm intrigued now, what's your day job?

@.-Samuel-. - Apologies, although why on earth would you be posting on a forum whilst driving? Regardless on the fact it's illegal, usually people send a quick text/make a call, not browse a forum. :tearsofjoy:

To be honest with you, your idea sounds like it's going to be A LOT of hassle, is it really worth it?
