Steering Rack

Hello, does anyone know if there is any difference between a B6 steering rack and a B7 steering rack. My steering is beginning to give up the ghost, humming at idle or full lock, tram lining all over the road, numb spot in from centre to about 10 degrees left to right. All new meyle arms fitted with inner and outer track rods, power steering fluid flush done, new tyres and its still the same. So I'm guessing it's the rack. I just want to know if the B7 rack was an improvement over the B6 rack as I'd rather replace it with something better if possible.
Does the Seat exeo rack fit? As its the same chassis as the B6/ B7

I fitted a B7 rack to my A4 2.5.
Can't remember the part numbers though.

Did you notice any difference to the b6 rack? Can I ask why you changed it and if yours was failing what were the symptoms?

Mine blew a end seal on the m6 one day. itdid squeal before that though.
