I've had my 2006 2.0 tdi for 3 years now and it has never let me down till today

I went to start her this afternoon to give her a good clean and it just cranked over so i got her scanned and only errors are related to my aftermarket stereo so i cleared them.
Tried again and the same just winding over tried again but kept going for about 20seconds and she sprang to life.
Now my question is what could cause this to happen, is it just one of those things or does it sound like something that might re-appear?
