Great read! Going to be a hell of a car. Follow you on insta and there is a noticeable difference in the noise from your trip to PCW Be tempted myself if I wasn’t all the way up here in Scotland. Looking forward to following the build

Thanks for the support, really appreciate it definitely worthwhile if you can make the trip

Awesome project, regarding the PCW mods what was his opinion on removing the resonators?

He did not suggest it, I’m not sure if it would cause problems by removing it. Maybe the software would have to be adjusted

No you would require the software if modifying that bit of the system & right now it’s not available

Software is not an issue. I can get it. I was just curious what he did
Cheers

PCW just does basic stuff dont think he would remove the OPF's. I can get my local fabrication guy to remove the OPFs for me but I am not yet ready to map the car and as the wife drives it dont want a CEL

Been a while since I updated the build, currently stage 1+, 490bhp 480 torque

Since my last update I’m not sure if I had the stage 1 software put on. But I’ll talk about it anyway, went for APR. I’m not sure if I was actually going any faster as I didn’t measure anything. But the car definitely felt more responsive & gear changes were a lot more seamless. Where as before I could catch the car out quite easily & be in a loss of power situation. I think I did this after having the car 4 weeks from new.

Wheels I had some O•Z racing wheels, 7 to be exact I had a mix up & ordered different ET at first. Ended up bending one of them, so ordered 2 more the right ET & ended up doing a next one in. They gave me half price off the 7th one to replace it. But I didn’t end up putting it on the car. I went for some Neu speed racing wheels instead. I think they were just too soft for the kind of driving I was doing and our roads over here. I had all six refurbished the seventh one brand-new in the box if anyone wants to purchase them (Ultraleggera) the centre caps did look really special on them & people always commented.

Next up was the breaks, my previous RS3 (2015) used to squeak a lot. So the brakes was definitely issue I wanted to address. I went a bit crazy and bought a complete new braking system. I had AP Racing calipers, 6 pot front, 4 pot rear & external electronic handbrake on the rear. Fitted by Awesome, immediately it really transformed car. It’s actually the first thing people ask me about. I had them finished in white with a custom logo. Performance wise I can’t fault them, after hard driving there is no break fade what so ever & that spongy feeling never happens. But most important there is no break squeal at all.

After I had the brakes fitted, I wanted to go for the full stage 2, but APR stoped doing it. Because removing the OPF could not be done without consequences. So I had to go for stage 1+ which is basically a stage 2 without the mid pipes, obviously accordingly down on performance as well. I had APR intercooler, intake & some KW springs fitted. Instantly this transformed car, I could feel the different straight away. It was like night & day. The first thing I noticed was not actually the speed, it was how the handling had changed. Awesome lowered the car to what they recommended & the car was really hugging the road now. Body roll was drastically reduced, it’s still slightly there may be anti-rollbar would help get rid of it even more. But I could go into corners carrying so much more speed, with confidence now. The open cone intake added some much needed sounds from the engine bay. It reminded me of a old school Subaru or Mitsubishi when you lift off the gas. Pick up with now much stronger & the car felt like it pulled right through the gears to the red line. Have had the stage 1+ on best part of 6 months now & the car over 2 years. It’s definitely an enjoyable experience every time I get it, even if it’s only a 10 minute journey. I had plans to go to stage 3 but with the order books opening up for the new model. There on hold

Those Neuspeeds look excellent. I gotta ask about the centre caps, where on earth did you find them? I cut stand aftermarket branding, and am on the hunt for some new lighter wheels, and would love some Audi centres. Are they just stickers? Factory caps or???

They are just stickers stuck on, I could not find any centre caps to fit properly. So just went with a gel sticker, looks the part & for £5 or whatever it cost. Easy to replace if it starts looking a bit worn down. Got them from eBay

Loving the build so far! What are the OZ wheel specs? Offset and width etc. Will they come with the centre lock adaptors? I take it there’s no tyres on them anymore or still got the tyres on?

Nice one, thank you. Do you by chance remember the diameter?

This is for the Neu Speed wheels rightthis is what you need to order

Here is all the information on the wheels, I still partially have the centre caps. Some bits are missing, they cost about £600 in total. I think I had some bits replaced and it cost about £200 for reference. The issue I had with them was occasionally they would fall off. But it was more my fault you were supposed to check them and tighten them up if they needed to be tightened, obviously I didn’t bother

Forgot to say if someone got a set of four they could have the centre caps
