Hi everyone,

After a lengthy battle with a dodgy garage and help from section 75 I got my engine rebuilt by a specialist for the dreaded oil consumption issue that plagues this model.

I also had a stage 1 map which I think took me to around 260/70.

I was considering going a bit further next year but I've been warned it will be silly money or not worth putting more power through a FWD.

Would you agree with that? I'm going to keep the car, don't want to buy an S4 etc.

If that was the case in terms of power what else could I do that would genuinely improve performance? This could be handling etc. I don't care about crackly poppy exhausts (just for noise) or lowering for the 'look'.

In terms of tech I do plan to get an android auto install done at some point

Cheers!

I've heard good things about installing a front strut brace (https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/strutco-strut-brace-–-with-pics.418846/). Easy to find on eBay if you search up strutco front strut brace. Probably one of the best bang for your buck mods you can do to the car initially.

Also heard good things about the Bilstein B12 kits for suspension, have a look here: https://www.dpmperformance.co.uk/car-parts/audi/a4/buy/springs-shocks

What tyres do you currently have on the car? That could make a difference, lots of people are running Michelin PS4 or PS4S all round.

Hope this helps :)

Thanks a lot for these tips! I've recently fitted 18s with Bridgestone potenzas all round and it has made a difference. Strut brace is interesting will definitely add that and look at springs new year.

Am I right in thinking exhaust systems are going to cost big for small gain?

Cheers
