So my S3 has just hit the 5 year mark with only 35k on the clock and has developed a ever so slight squeaking noise coming from the front when the steering wheel is turned slightly to the left and is audible mainly between 20-40mph any higher than that and it’s drowned out by the road noise. Dashcam doesn’t pick up the noise very well. Any idea on what it could be ?

Sounds like a squeaky chair/a spring mattress only when the turning left.

Could this be a sign of the wheel bearings going bad.

I had a similar thing on my previous Civic Type-R. I took out the brake pads and re-did the copperslip grease and all was quiet after that.

Suspension top mount bearings. Think that’s what’s it’s called. A few threads on here about them.

Cheers, I’ll have a look at the tyres and brakes first. I changed the top mount bearings with oem new ones when I got the new eibach lowering spring put in a few years ago hope I don’t need to replace them again in the space of 13000 miles.
