Sports cat on a 2.0tfsi q

I am looking to fit a sports cat on to the standard exhaust the car is a 2.0tfsi quattro reg in dec 06 on a 56 plate to get the existing cat out do i have to drop the subframe i have been told this may be the case

Not dead sure about a 2.0tfsi, but to fit a sports cat on an S3 the propshaft has to be dropped slightly. I would assume it's the same, as they are essentially the same underneath. You may have had mixed messages and this might be what they mean. It's not a big job or much to worry about as long as the car is on a ramp.

if you do, mark the drive shaft with tipex at the joint you undo or make sure you dont rotate it as it could be balanced.
