Splitting front S3 brake calliper

is it ok to split the calliper red/silver for painting?

Do you mean paint half of it or split it so you can paint all of it with good coverage?

Yes split them, no hydrolic link between the two, the alloy bit should be alloy though

Probably worth doing the slide bushes while you are at it which are just rubber if still std ?
