Speakers not working, head unit + sub are fine...

Hi all... as above, all 4 speakers have stopped working on my A3 8L, while the head unit and amplified sub still work. Radio fuse on the car is fine, fuse on the back of the head unit is fine.
Then I thought the internal amp of the head unit must be fried, so bought another head unit, but that didn't make any difference...

The head unit is a JVC KDR811, the speakers are wired directly to it through an ISO plug. Only recent thing I did to the car was attempt to fix the driver side window mechanism, which worked about a dozen times, and then jammed again the next day.

I'm lost here, what could be causing this?

ok so the head unit obv isnt faulty. is there a chance that the speaker inside the door that you took apart is shorting in anyway. this can cause an aftermarket unit to protect itself so it doesnt damage the internal amplifier. I would take that door card back off and check or even disconnect that speaker and check radio functionality again.
