Got an issue with my S3 convertible rear drivers side speakers crackling. Took the panel off and tested each speaker and they both crackle so it’s more likely to me the signal coming in I think. Anyone else had this issue and have a fix?

Looking elsewhere i might need to replace the amplifier but I’m hoping not.

I have the MMI Nav Plus/Nav System High system so I think that is the base one right? If so where is the amp in the car? Thought I might try wiggling the cables to start with!

If you car has B&O then the amp is under the front passenger seat. If you have the standard or Audi sound systems then the amp is built in to your MMI/MIB unit.

Thanks. Not B&O. So for basic system that’s in the glove box isn’t it? Where the SIM card goes in?

Just had a call from my specialist and they’re saying my car has three amplifiers or what I think what they might mean is that there are three amplifiers listed for my car (base, B&O and something else maybe?) and that they need to know which one it is before quoting to fix it. I’m assuming i only have one amplifier as it’s the base system? And that’s the one in the mmi in glovebox correct?

Had a quote off a couple of electrical repair places and this is a common issue and can be forced for around £300. But worrying sending it through the post to them but it’s probably going to be cheaper than replacing it so I might go that route. If so is it easy to remove and refit the mmi if it’s my own one? No coding to do and as just refitting the same exact part?

Thanks!
