Solvent smell

Hi,
I have an strange solvent smell coming from my car, i'm not sure where it's coming from but I've taken everything out the boot cleaned carpets and it's still there. I thought it might be the condenser coil but the heating works and no oily residue on the windscreen, I'm lost what to check next.

And help would be appreciated

So has the wifes 2006 TDI, Hadn't had a chance to anything yet but I assume its the heating/AC unit causing this. May try some A/C cleaners and see if they work.

So, after checking everything, I stripped out the front mats and boot carpet, gave them a good clean and now the smell has gone

I wonder where the Smell come from then.
