Hello I know it would be expansive to do but I really want to get this retrofitted . Has anyone done this ?

Sorry I can't advise on the retrofit, but I can advise that it's reasonably successful at stopping the kids from slamming the doors

I could do with stopping my wife slamming the doors, the kids aren't strong enough yet!

You can tell your wife not to do it but your occasional passangers think these are barn doors to slam as hard as they can.
Hate those kind of people. It's like they wouldn't have a car to know your pain, when a stranger wham your doors. Uuggghhhhh!!

My driver doors tend to slam more and louder as others.
Don't know if it is the lock latch need adjusting or new rubber seals would be enough?

Just tell them to get out and catch a bus (not the wife, that might not go so well)

Told my wife plenty of times, not to slam the doors or I'll give her Oyster card and it still didn't help.

Recently drove my mom few times and thought the doors will fall off the hinges, that's how hard she was slamming them.
Love her to bits but c'mon. Slamming my car doors?!

My Mum is jealous of my doors, I've got most regular passengers well trained enough.

Worse than slamming the doors to me is pulling and yanking on the tailgate to close it, that drives me nuts, not like the close button doesn't light up!! Maybe I should paint it bright red.

Poser! :sunglasses:

Not jealous at all!
I don't know what is is about A6 doors that makes people want to slam them. I think I've had more people slam mine than any other car I've ever owned.

They are very heavy doors, much heavier than my A4, that might be a factor

I may be wrong but don't think the 4F ever had the option.

Mine is a 4F (C6) and had power close doors from the factory, the original owner appears to have specced most options, for some reason not DAB though

Well there you go, learn something new everyday.

The facelifted C6 seems to have had all sorts of "modern" stuff that you might not expect available as as option.
Soft close doors being one, adaptive cruise, cornering headlights to name just a few others.

Yup, got them too, also lane assist and side assist. I reckon when my car get's scrapped it'll be a retrofitters dream!

The paperwork says £50,005

I have wondered if they got let off with the £5

£12,500 of extras according to the paperwork.

It was the list of options that intrigued me, I was 99% set on getting a C7 then saw this one. The problem will be when it's time to swap it I'll have a hard time finding the same spec I think.

I think so, can't be too many people willing to spend £12,500 on options!
See if you can find the previous owners next car...

Fingers crossed I'll have won the lottery by then and got my order in for an RS6

I thought mine had a fair bit spent on extras at £8500 lol, list price of nearly £49k,my c6 has soft close doors, bose, tinted windows, mmi with hard drive, bi xenons headlights with cornering etc etc, £12.5k is amazingly well specced, I don't have Lane assist

Jumping right in on this thread....

So, these soft close doors...what's the deal with them then!? I have the same issues with the women in my life trying to open the opposite door by closing theirs as hard as they can....so these soft close doors sound GOOD.

If your car doesn't have them from factory I wouldn't bother with them pal, it's an expensive retrofit

I don’t know how I missed this thread but it sure made me laugh. Although I will say I don’t like it when my passengers slam the door. I just give them a look that says slam it again and your on public transport. They soon get the message.

Plus they don't actually prevent door slamming, they just work on the kids because they like that the doors finish closing by themselves. I guess it depends why the door is being slammed in the first place

I hate my passengers slamming doors also. My wife, ok I can sort of forgive her but that witch-in-law (wife's mother) that is helping us now with newborn, she's gonna get slapped one day. She thinks, these are barn doors and slam them so hard that car shakes.
Driver doors seem to make more slam noise as supposed to my other doors. Think I need to replace seals or stuff them with pvc tubing to be thicker again.

That look easy (!) Didn't noticed what they did with the door card, to accommodate new lath opening.
Certainly a way to reduce or eliminate door slamming, tho.
