So I designed and 3D printed... Armrest Annoyance, is it just me??

So it's been bugging me for a long time. The armrest in my S3 8P... As I don't put my phone in the phone prep, I fill it with numerous items. These items then slide back to where the hinge is and then cannot shut. Yes I can not fill it with anything, but then it's a bit of a waste of convenient space. Am I the only one who finds this annoying!?

Anyway after measuring and creating templates, I threw something together in CAD and 3D printed it... It's designed as a tight fit so it does not move at all once in place.

Well I have just spoken to my colleague who has the 3D printer, including delivery he can do for £15.

Is blue the only colour you can print?

He currently only has a reel of orange and blue at the moment... so for the time being those are the choice. Although with them being PLA material, you can prime and spray to your desired colour easily enough.

Hey Keyz, Yeah I should be able to do the Audi Rings no problem, once the material comes in I will let you know!

The armrests do look very similar! If you can measure the width then I can double check with my dimensions.

Well I have manually sketched the logo in my CAD package, so I can have the curves and lines exported....

No worries, I have created a rings design now. Hopefully the black will arrive this week and by the start of next week have them made!

Ok great guys! The black came in yesterday, and my colleague did a test print with the material last night! So we are going to start printing a range of these over the weekend with "S3, Rings, RS3" and anything else, if anyone requests. It does take around 7 hours per print at this resolution so we have a few hours of printing ahead of us.

So we can do £15 total including 1st Class delivery within the UK. Paypal probably the easiest. So if you do decide you would like one these, they can be sent once payment is received, my Paypal is: atkins140@gmail.com

I will start a list for those potentially wanting any. Feel free to add/remove or amend if no longer wanted:

No worries I thought so. I did get a print in the black with the rings made last night. There are a couple pictures added above. Not sure if you have been able to see the images.
