Really stuck at the moment and its costing me a fortune. I have a3 1.9 tdie on an 09 plate. It's the one with the dodgy conrods and had an ivor Searles replacement engine 10k miles ago. Current problems - The glow plug light keeps coming on. The car does not pull as it should when accelerating, kind of pulls then pauses slightly then pulls again. It sometimes chucks out loads of white smoke and sometimes grey smoke. Garage are independent vw Audi specialists. They've said it's an air circulation problem and they are eliminating options. First visit saw them change a filter at the front of the car (the middle 1 of 3) I've forgotten what's its called but sits between the radiator and the air con unit. The second visit saw the egr valve replaced and a gasket, but still have same problem, it runs fine for a few days then starts chugging again. Booked in again tomorrow, any help much appreciated.
