Smell of petrol..

Hi,

Once my car is running for a while, i can smell petrol maybe only a little bit but i can smell it, now i've been looking round my car this morning to try investigate the leak and i've come across this, i've no idea what it is as i'm not a mechanic but could this be the problem?

As you can see if the photo i can see thread on the bolt surely this isn't right? what's you thoughts?

Should i be able to see the thread on that bolt i've hand my hands around the bolt and it's dry and not leaking just looks strange!

Worn cam follower can cause a petrol smell if there's no visible fuel leak.

If the smell comes from the rear end, could be faulty/leaking fuel tank ventilation valve. Common issue

Looks like the left one has 3No. washers!
