Grats! Great spec Where'd you get the silver lighter blanks from? Also what 4g data card you end up going with?
Blanks from here: Audi 12V Power Source Socket Dummy Cover Aluminium Finish - Stoke Audi Parts Got unlimited plan from Three, including tethering so can use the in car Wifi. They don't change extra for 4G when it launches next month.
Nice one cheers! I'll have to take a look at three, cheers for the heads up. Lets hope the car lets you disable data roaming
Perfect choice of network - I have been using Three to stream web radio in my MINI for 2+ years and their 3G coverage and speeds are second to none - I have tried every network and Three are FAR superior for motoring use. We can drive from our house in Leicestershire to our flat in Porth in Cornwall and NEVER have the web radio drop out. Better than DAB.
I work freelance in IT / Telecoms and have done so for 15 years. Agreed Three have the best value v fastest network, EE in some urban areas is faster but its expensive. Vodafone and O2's networks suck
Yep - it's all about the backhaul - three is built for this stuff from the ground up and always has been. Yes they have pockets of congestion like everyone does but the main bits that the network hangs together on are decent. Since I got my iPhone 5S I can regularly see speed tests of 18-20mb download sitting at home in rural Leicestershire on Three. They don't even have 4G yet. I only get 7mb on my home broadband!
I've worked at all the mobile phone companies and EE's is the fastest but only just IF you are in a 4G area and have an expensive 4G plan, Three is next fastest, then o2 and vfone (even though o2 and voda in the process of site sharing!), Three maybe the smallest network but they've pulled a masterstroke by not charging for 4G. I don't like 2 year contracts but may go with them as Voda are awful For the money Three are streets ahead - ive had 20mpbs on Three and regularly get over 10mpbs - on voda I rarely ever get over 300kpbs!! ive complained to Voda and I haven't paid a penny of my £52/mth contract in 7 months - 5 months to go and im off to Three
I fell out with 3 when I requested a cancellation which they didn't action, then spent the next 2 years trying to chase £11 off me (which I refuse to pay on principle). Don't think I'll be able to use them again... EE certainly is the best for 4G at the moment, but I don't think they are that great if you aren't in a 4G area, not as good as some of the other networks. I'm on Orange at the moment (I work in the mobile industry and get a discount with them - and with EE actually) and find it a lot better than Vodafone.
I'm passing Grimsby in the morning... Do you guys want me to hang an industrial powered fan outside my window directly behind the boat?
Luckily my dealer said he'd go and pick it up from Grimsby docks for me as I've bought it from Grimsby Audi so I don't have to wait for them to transport it. No doubt it'll have loads of miles on it and thrashed to within an inch of it's life!!
Will keep an eye on this silky, lately I have considered an 8V if possible as it seems to be the only car I really think would be the best all rounder!
Because they build next year models towards the end of the current year. My order sheet confirmed it as 2014 model.
You will love it, hope you've got something to keep you occupied! 270miles on mine already although won't see it again till Friday .
He's probably making love to the exhaust pipes in a wooded park somewhere... I just told the police officer i was cleaning them...
One word EPIC!!!!! Done 120 miles today! More pics to to come... Off to get its winter tyres fitted in the morning
