Severe battery drain

Suddenly I've got a severe drain on battery, battery drains down in about 10mins - charged up overnight, connected up and tried turning over but virtually zero

Charged battery with a fresh (spare) diesel battery and again couldn't turn the starter over and drained down in minutes

The night before, the car went through a roller wash (first & last time) and so I'm left thinking it's got something to do with water ingress....but it seems dry

The rear lights and boot lock seem to be out of action now also
Could it be a short in the tailgate or something ?

Any clues would be a help, had an ignition fault to sort, prior to this but was due to investigate....here's the fault codes

Quick look at your scan there. The 00991 fault shouts out. With it been short to plus. That would be the first place to check.

So that's a negative to positive kinda short....crikey, I left battery connected...so I better disconect it now.

Carpets all dry from the surface....all this rain which has been never ending up here....probably tipped it over the edge..

I'll try and track the short down...maybe tailgate somehow got water inside etc..

You have loads of fault codes there. I would clear them and see what actually comes back. If the battery is being run down in 10 minutes that is some serious current. Should be fairly easy to track that one down.
If you had an Infra Red camera you could probably find the issue as what ever it is will be getting pretty warm with that much current.
Difficult to find anything that could take that much current and not blow a fuse, Have a look at the alternator.

The cars a Zombie...when fresh battery connected most things seem ok, int lights radio heater lights etc...but as soon as I put key into crank - the life just drains out of it....just about one very slow turn of the starter

Just for good measure hooked 2 batteries up for extra cranking amps, but still the same...

I've cleared codes so will run another scan.

wish I had a themal camera...thats a good idea..

Connected my van direct to car, by-passing the battery - the drain seems to have gone now but car still wont start

No fault codes (other than dv leak) ran great into the car wash - ran home 2mins, parked up - now car is off it's trolley

Starter motor turns very very slowly, two spins perhaps then dies

Power supplied via my van on tickover connected through decent jump leads...

pulled a few of the faulty circuit fuses (int lights etc) but no difference ?

could it be ecu ? hope it doesn't cost too much to sort

fault codes after clearing - as mentioned, none prior to car wash

any idea's

Connect the jump leads direct to the starter motor, or at least the negative lead direct onto the starter motor. Turning over slowly could be down to a bad earth/broken earth strap to the engine.

Cambelt is on wrong (tooth out) and you may have a blocked FPR based on the engine fault codes
