Service Reminder

Since the other day whenever I start or switch off the car (218 A4 Quattro) I get a service reminder - which states that a service is due in... 6100 miles. Which is about right (will be on ~18k then).
Now I'm all for being reminded nice and early, however do I really need reminding over six thousand miles prior!? Any way to adjust this?

How many days does it say? The figure which it prewarns you is in the firmware and not adjustable.

It does seem a bit overkill warning at 6k miles...
