Mine stopped working the other day. Took it off and stripped it found it full of rust . Cleaned it up & AC90'd it. Sound ad a pound now . Whilst looking for a spare found 1 at "carpartsonline" for £7.94 , if anyone needs

My pump got rusted up and split the plastic so it leaks. I bought one on ebay for about £15. The ebay-sourced replacement is identical but has a plastic 'bump' on the electrical socket so that the plug on the engine loom will not fit. Can I just file off the bump on the water pump? Everything else is identical. The part number I took of the car is 1J0955681 (VAG original) and the replacement is 26274 (febi).
