Hi All,

I've recently ordered my Audi S4 Avant with an approximate delivery of the beginning of March. Unfortunately I'm skiing until the 3rd of March so it means I'll likely have to wait until the 10th to collect my new beauty. This also happens to be my 30th birthday, so it'll be a cracking birthday present!

My car history is:
  1. Nissan Micra, 1.0l in purple. Did my street cred absolutely no good whatsoever, but I got it for free from my grandparents so cannot complain at all. Has a load of problems with it, but it gave me my freedom so I can't complain too much.
  2. Seat Ibiza, 1.2l in red. Great little car that did me well for 3 years or so. Only issue I had with it were the coil packs constantly broke (known problem), but apart from that it was great and ferried me backwards and forwards to RAF Halton, RAF Cosford, and RAF Leeming at the beginning of my RAF career.
  3. VW Scirocco GT 2.0 TSi in Viper Green. My favourite car to date by a country mile. Bought after my second tour of Afghan I had a strong connection with this car from start to sale and was very sad indeed to see it go in April last year. Modifications installed were: Neuspeed P-Flo Induction kit, APR Carbino Stage 2 intake pipe, Whiteline Anti-lift kit, Powerflex Engine Mount Inserts, and both a Revo and APR Stage 1 remap. This gave me much better throttle response, handling under power (reducing understeer significantly) and a peak power improvement of 265BHP and 330lb/ft of torque. Loved this car so much, but unfortunately had to sell when I left the RAF as I needed something more economical.
  4. Mercedes C 220D in silver. Has done everything I bought it for exceedingly well. The only issue is what I bought it for is very, very boring. I needed something that was fairly quick, reliable, comfortable on long journeys, safe, and most importantly, economical. As a result, the car is also very boring and I can't wait to get rid.
  5. Just ordered my new S4 Avant and can't wait for it to arrive. I've gone for Daytona Grey, Black Leather (I wimped out of getting the Magma Red - not sure if I'll regret it yet), Electric Seats and Mirrors with Auto-Dim, Storage Pack, Comfort and Sound Pack, Light and Vision Pack, and Privacy Glass. Paying £3k deposit and £454pcm from Cambridge Audi. I wish I could have stretched my budget for the Sports Diff and the Active Dampers, but I just can't. I also wish Audi just did the adaptive cruise as an individual option rather than that stupid pack that contains blind-spot detection, and lane keep assist, etc. I just do not see the need for such options but the adaptive cruise would be really useful.
Anyway, looking forward to speaking with some of you in the future.

Best,

Skat

Red magma is awesome . My wife did her nut when I told her I had ordered red interior. “i’m Not going to sit in some dodgy porn set”was the response.
She took one look when it arrived and quite happily took it all back...

I've been wanting red leather in a grey car for ages and this was my perfect opportunity to tick the box, but I bottled it. I don't know why, but I feel the Magma is just a bit too "red" and would have probably gone for it if it was a bit darker or they used the red more sparingly (like black inners and red outers on the seats). I also get the feeling that it may look worn quite quickly and I was worried that I'd get bored of it once the novelty had worn off.

In the end, I bottled it and played it safe with the black. Only time will tell if it was the correct choice!

Welcome mate, you’ll love the S4, it’s an amazing car.

Another vote for Magma, best choice I made on my Daytona grey S4 Avant, really breaks up the dark interior. I don’t think it’s too red, has a nice dark red vibe, the seat backs are dark grey so really breaks it up and with the diamond stitching looks amazing!

Haha that’s what my girlfriend said. She said she wasn’t sitting in red leather seats, otherwise I would have probably ordered red instead of the black! Had no choice especially when we go out and I have a drink and I need her to drive it home ha!

@Skatman, mine HAD a build date of 08 Jan. I had an email yesterday saying it was now in quality control. Is yours the same? I’m still aiming for a collection date of 09 Mar.

Had an email today mate, still looking at a build date end of Jan for March delivery. Hopefully we'll be picking them up on the same day!

Thanks everyone!
