You need to install it into a car so that the dealer can connect their VAS to it and retrieve the PIN from the Audi database (or tell you it's a stolen RNS-E!).
 
tricky one - don't buy it if there's ANY suspiscion that it's stolen... you'll jsut end up having to "answer a few questions".... and being out of pocket....

Iv picking one up tomorrow with no code

Called audi and they said they can do it for £25.

So assuming its not stolen I should be ok

vwcruise are fitting mine on Weds. . . they can provide a code for £30.

I picked up an RNSE off ebay for £350, bout half the price of what I had to pay for an A6 one for my RS 6
