hi all,

normally my sat nav updates with live traffic updates, shows queing traffic etc

seems to have stopped doing this over the last 2 weeks, any reason why?

tonight the m6 was a nightmare but nothing flashed up.

thats for any answers

Stevo

Is it the mmi satnav you talking?

How does yours use live services and updates? Onboard sim with data plan?

What reg/motor you are?

I had mine updated to latest maps recently but with sd card.
Before that I used TomTom with live services. Now not that often or only when in the rush and need to avoid traffic.

There was no live traffic on c6 apart from tmc

That can't be true as my a6 Le mans satnav tells me when there's bad traffic and tried to reroute me etc?

As i said tmc :)

Traffic Message Channel (TMC) is a technology for delivering traffic and travel information to motor vehicle drivers. It is digitally coded using the ALERT C protocol into RDS Type 8A groups carried via conventional FM radio broadcasts. It can also be transmitted on Digital Audio Broadcasting or satellite radio

like i mentioned seemed to have stopped last week or so?

Is it a setting somewhere in nav to tick or something?

2010 Sline Avant LeMans and cannot see it here. Also, had my FW, SW and maps updated few months ago.

Is it in “route criteria”?

You see your tmc is crossed with means no live traffic. Check what radiostations in your area have tmc.

Riiight. Now I gotcha.

Is that automatic on/off depending of the area?

Hardly listen to radio. Same songs everywhere, 100 times a day.

Traffic button?

Pictured both pages of all settings available for route criteria, after pressing right hand corner button “route” in nav screen.
Map button will obviously display a map, nav-info button display all latest vehicle gps position ect and memory button give you your latest routes and destinations.

I have 3G+ mmi, bro.
My maps are on hard drive.

Btw, which mmi you have, Steve?

Is't it down to area where you are? Signal gets weak an mmi does not receive any sat nav info?

No it depends on radiostation. Some have tmc some dont .

Even though, you're not listening to the radio?
As mentioned earlier, I hardly turn the radio on. 99.99999% I go with media files (mp3/cd or dvd files playback)
If it is down to radio station and you're in wave hole (low signal zone), you're not going to get this service, will you?

Yes. The system pick up a radio station that has tmc automatically . If you are in the zone where there isnt one avaiable then no traffic info

It happens in the background regardless if you listen to the station or cd...

Cool. School every day.

Thank you for that

Hope this also help you @seasidestevo

mine is working as normal, i listen to the local station rock fm in lancashire so covers all my journey to work, which can be a right pain for a 28 mile journey each way.
