My S5 has had some of the interior lights replaced with LED's but crucially not the lights mounted in the roof. I have lights in the front and back, can anyone enlighten me on what i need to replace the yellow bulbs with LED's.

Thanks.

I can help.

when you say they have been replaced to LEd do you mean the footwell lights are LED and the rest are still halogen?

The footwell lights are bright white so must be LED. Its hard to tell if the red door lights are LED but they are bright. The lights in the roof are definately not LED, they are too yellow, the glovebox and puddle lights are not LED either.

Hi.

Seems like no one has modded them, they are stock still.

Here is the Kit that we have for it - http://emtuning.co.uk/shop/q5-8r-led-interior-kit-2/ - sport back with lightpack is the kit that you need.

mine is the full kit that has Every single interior light, it even upgrades the footwells as up against the puddle lights and red door lights in my kit they will look Dim.

Can vouch for that... I have the VCDS footwell light on when driving mod and I had to dial back the brightness a few notches when I upgraded to t8ups' kit.

The biggest upgrade on the interior lighting is when it is dark. The car really does look great when the doors are opened now!

Thanks for the link. 22 bulbs is a lot of bulbs!

My new LED's have arrived but now i have an issue! Is there a knack to removing the plastic lenses without breaking them? All the ones i have tried so far look like they are about to snap but still don't come free!

Yes. One side (the one away from the bulb) needs to be prised off first. They are a ****** to get off. Youtube is a big help. All mine came out eventually. You also need a bit of ingenuity to get the bulbs in sometimes... (puddles spring to mind).

Figured out what i need to do and started installing the led's. The dome and sun visor led's are installed as well as the map led's although i was suprised the new led's are on a small rectangular pcb which made it difficult to install into the front map positions.

I moved onto the glove box, boot and doors but the new led's appear to be the wrong ones. The new led's are on a rectangular pcb with 4 led's attached and red and black wires leading to a small plug. They are too big to fit into the plastic lamp holders and are the wrong fitting (existing lamps are same fitting as the map lamps). I have emailed EM Tuning so will see what they say.

Pic below is what i received.

Had an email from EM Tuning with a link to a fitting guide so i will try installation again tomorrow.
