My S5 (B9 2017) just failed its MOT due to a perishing lower coil spring mount on both rear sides of the car.

Searched through various threads and it seems this is a common failure point. To my understanding, this is simply a rubber mount on which the coil spring sits in.

Whats baffling is Audi have quoted me £700 to replace both sides!? Can anybody advise if they have got these replaced and how much? Can't seem to find a part number myself but £700 for a rubber mount + labor seems extremely excessive.

Is there a localIndependent specialist near you?

audi will be charging £100++ per hour +VAT which will quickly add up.

I wouldnt call it excessive as it does take sometime to do these jobs tbh & as stated at over £100 an hour, it's probably 5 hours of time maybe less depending on location & I can well believe that if things are in the way & any alignments need doing also as I've worked on a few cars & these areas do eat up your hours.
