are the Sport and non sport racks different then?
a mate of mine had driven a TDI SE around for a bit then had a drive of my 1.8T Sport and reconned the rack in the TS was a good bit quicker than the tdi, he said the whole car felt completely different and much more involved and better to drive...

I think it's 2.6 turns lock to lock in S4/RS4 which is substantially quicker than

Any idea what the turns/ratio is of say an A4 1.8?
think they are different. Remember fitting a S3 rack to a A3 1.9tdi quattro. was much better and less turns lock to lock..

i checked last night, and my 1999.5 1.9TDI Sport has 2.6 turns lock to lock. so it would seem that if you have sports suspension, its 2.6, the same as S4s and RS4s.
