S4 rear bushes

Evening all

How hard a job are the rear bushes on an S4 (or Quattro A4)

ive ordered all the parts to do the front end, and am starting to think it might be an idea to refresh the rear end at the same time...

Couple of Q's:

How many bushes are there to be replaced?
Do they need pressed in?
How hard are they to get out in the first place?

There are 16 to replace - 8 per side.
Press job.

You can use the hammer and drift method, but I wouldn't advise it.
The lower and upper arms are only light pressed metal, and you only need to distort them ever so slightly.

They'll either not fit properly, or the rear suspension geometry will be out, and she'll develop an unhealthy appetite for tyres.

The rear could also become very sensitive over light bumps mid-bend.

Craig, did you buy the Powerflex kit or the full OEM control arm kit?

He went for a Meyle arm kit for the front.

Rear sounds a bit ghey without a press. Might be an idea to take it to a garage, big problem is finding somewhere around here that we can trust to do the job properly!

Ive seen some proper bodges from local garages on previous cars.

as above, i went for the 12pc Meyle kit, got it from german ebay for 290 delivered. with the fitting kit.

That's a great price. I've just paid £45+vat for a single control arm.

Which buyer did you get the kit from? There's a few on there, but no details for shipping to the uk, be easier if I could go straight to someone that does.

i emailed autoteile_24 from one of their listings and asked how much to post. his listing showed that he would post worldwide, so just dropped them a mail for the cost
