S4 fan issue

Right people can anyone shed some light on the following.

The other day I went to the S4 and it was dead, no juice in the battery. Mmm OK I'll bump start it and see what happens.
Started no problem but I did notice the smaller of the 2 radiator fans was constantly running. Even with the car stopped and keys out. The car was in no way warm and it kept running till it flattened the battery again.
So the only way to stop it is to disconnect the battery. I've pulled every fuse and that doesn't stop it either. I've pulled the wires off both sensors at the back of the block and it still runs.
What am I missing?

Any by help much appreciated.

I replied on SRS, its a busted fan controller.

I'll get one ordered up. For the time being I've disconnected the power supply so I can still use the car.
