Not been on here for a while mainly due to the Audi's running well but I have had an issue with the S4 Cab which I have been lending a friend.
The car is an 2005 S4 Cab that has now covered 61k miles, have owned it approx. 2 years during that time has never missed a beat.
The fault cuts the engine out whilst driving and can occur under load or not under load, even idling whilst parked. Engine just cuts out, stereo remains playing etc. and the car will immediately restart with no problem, it seems to be getting worse and re-occurs after 2-3 miles.
The car has had a low battery but not low enough to require it needing to be charged or jump started.
I have VCDS and have run a scan which I will post at the end of this post.
It has been away with a mechanic and he has apparently replaced to of the relays which he was convinced would sort the issue, and believes he has eliminated the ignition switch as the issue, but the car is still the same.
The ECU and the cluster has been sent away with the key, as the codes appeared to be pointing at one or other being faulty, but they have come back stating that they are unable to test as the ECU has been chipped and they were not prepared to plug it in as the last time they did something like this it damaged their computer system.
Any ideas?
