Hi,

Thanks for your time. Would anyone know how to remove the oil pan on a 2003 S4 4.2 V8? I have removed all the bolts with the exception of the bolts that are under a stainless steal pipe located at the very front of the engine - I think this is a coolant pipe.

I am fairly handy around a car but I just cant find any instructions on how to remove the stainless steal pipe to gain working access to remove the oil pan. There are about 6 bolts that I are above the stainless steal pipe that are obscured.

There is absolutely no room between the front of the engine to even see where the pipe goes! Rather than start pulling the entire front of the car apart could someone offer some advice on how to tackle the oil pan removal or provide some pictures please.

Thank you. Neil

im sorry to say thats exactly what you need to do

to remove that pipe you need to remove the front engine mount and ideally the only way to get at that is to put the front end of the car in to the "service" position
