Just after a bit of advice about replacing my wishbone bushes as mine are looking pretty tired. I've heard some bad stories about powerflex bushes failing after little miles so was wondering what was the best replacements?
I'll be using genuine bushes if that's the better option over poly bushes. Are there any better ones to get, like Leon Cupra R or similar?
Any advice would be great, need to get to the bottom of this annoying noise!!

on my front wishbones i have powerflex at the front, and solid TT bushes on the rear. i chose this incase a powerflex rear one was a little too hard. i believe tuffty has this setup aswell.
the TT rear im reffering to is solid rubber, whereas usual s3 ones have voids in them to make them a little more flexable.
it feels great.

whats your noise?

here's my setup:
Pair of Wishbone Bushes - Lemforder OEM - for VW Golf Mk4 R32, Audi TT & S3 | eBay
and
Powerflex Front Wishbone Large Front Bushes Audi S3 Quattro 96-03 / 2x PFF3-501 | eBay

the larger front bush is 45mm, which is found on later cars, like yours. very early s3's had 30mm bushes.

It's a bit of an odd noise, hard to describe, like a warbeling noise!! Mainly at low speeds and with slight suspension movement. I know my bushes are goosed so going to do them anyway.
Are the Lemforder bushes as good as OEM from TPS? I've fitted these to customers cars before as they're pretty good value and I get a good discount at Euro Car Parts (who sell Lemforder parts)

Lemforder are the same as Audi down to the mark where you can see where they have ground off the VAG logo at the factory. S3/TT solid rear bushes are one and the same.

a warbeling noise, thats a new one lol. its just with worn bushes (my original ones wer BAD! see my thread) you dont tend to, or at least i didnt get any noises as such, just sloppy lifeless feeling from the steering. but obv if they are in a bad way then go for it. but a noise i would say is rarely caused by them.

i doubt you will be dissapointed with my wishbone set up. i certainly wasnt. i just wasnt prepared to risk it with the poly rear bush, it has alot of movement going through it so dows need some flexability

Warbeling, I know, I cracked up writing it, lol! It's just a real odd noise to describe, not a knock or a squeek! I'm going to replace them anyway and see what happens. I have just fitted FK AK coilovers so I suppose it could be the shocks making a noise but it just doesn't sound like a noise a shocker would normally make.
I've had the rear shocks replaced under warranty as they were knocking.

i have a full set of powerflex front wishbone bushes for the S3 for sale in the classifieds if your interested let me know. Reason for sale is because my suspension for replaced by the insurance therefore not required.
