S3 top mounts/bearings

a few months ago I replaced my top mounts and bearings however I've noticed that recently they are a bit creaky. I remember when fitting them I was wondering if they needed grease or not but I couldn't get any info so I didn't , so do they need to be greased? If so what kind of grease would be best and where do I grease them

9/10 its the strut nut. did you do the install or another? that nut has to be torque to spec and not just impact wrenched. its a step most forget or dont know about. also its a nylock nut so they sometimes need to be replaced
