Hi guys my names Simon im 22 from Hull, this is my first Audi after coming from Subaru Ownership i know all about money pits, instead i was hoping for a more reliable all rounder instead of just a weekend car. So here i am finding myself in S3 ownership. I've owned the car for just under 2 months and wanted to create something i could document the progress i make on the s3, modifications aswell as maintenance. So here is the car at the showroom when i went to look at it. Facelift 3 door S3, 2 previous owners, 62k miles, bose sound system, flat bottom wheel and wingbacks;
The first photo in my ownership when we was on the way home
Was then greeted with some nice beading the following morning;
Then i gave the car a good wash and took some photo's, found out the car came with a resonated Milltek catback too which is a bonus;
First thing i did was get my friend paint the lower bumper lip satin black;
Then i ordered a Milltek resonator delete;
Next i ordered some Tailored carpets off ebay;
Then on the list was to tackle the front brakes and wheel arches. So here's what we started with and then i stripped everything back, rust killed and treated then painted. New OEM S3 caliper clips, painted the pad carriers, calipers and disc centres;
Now onto a maintenance item, the Cam follower, order everything i needed from TPS and set about it;
Then as it would happen the following day my PCV Valve decided to fail, so i ordered everything i needed once again from TPS Along with Cambelt kit, waterpump and multibelt;
Changing the PCV Valve;
Then i finally managed to get my first upgrade, some new wheels. Audi v Spoke Replicas, sealed in carbon collective sealent, black stick on wheel weights and i have some genuine centre caps and nut covers to go on;
That brings us upto this weekend. My task was tackling a slight gearbox leak from a rotten end cap, so as per i ordered the bits i needed from TPS and set about it;
Lastly i bought a honeycomb grill off ebay so set about fitting that, painting the radiators and crash bar black and cutting out the badge holder along with ordering a new genuine grill badge and 3 torx mounting screws from TPS;
So after doing all that on saturday i woke up this morning and my front passenger coilspring decided to snap, so thats another job to now add to the list. Swear this car is giving me nothing but issues so far but hopefully its getting there now, just the haldex oil and filter to do then onto modifying it.
Comments and feedback highly appreciated, simon.
