Hey guys,

I busted a front shock (14 plate S3 saloon) recently and need to replace it. I believe Audi charge £750 or so for OEM ones. Does anyone know where I can get cheaper ones?

Thanks in advance.

My goto supplier for parts like this is LLL Parts. I don’t know the exact part number for your shock absorber, but a quick search for A3 shock absorber showed a cost of just over £100 for a genuine OEM part. See https://www.lllparts.co.uk/en/catalogs/audi/RDW/A3/745/4/411/411000

I can’t understand where £750 comes from, even if this includes fitting.

Have you actually called Audi for a parts price, do you have Magride, is the world flat?

Someone on here said they paid £1500 for two OEM shocks.

A shock for an S3 (with magnetic ride) is different to a standard A3, no?

you didn’t say in your original post that your car has mag ride shocks. These are certainly more expensive than non-magride parts. However, it would still be worth checking the price with LLL. They will certainly be cheaper than Audi.

This place seem to offer magride shock refurbishment so drop them a line for prices Power-Tuning. Google is your friend as I also found a company based in Poland that offer this service for Magride shock refurbishment.

Sorry Mike. I assumed it being an S3 they all have mag ride? I'm a bit of a novice on this stuff.

All the S3 Saloons/Sedans had Magride as standard (so I'm lead to believe) but it was an option on the Hatchback and Sportback.
