S3 over revs

So car has been over reving on gear change or if say at 3-5000 rpm and I take foot off accelerater revs will jump up 500rpm or so weather I touch the clucth or not it had a new clucth at weekend scanned for fault codes (lite version) no clucth switch fault code that seems fine what else could it be?

Clutch switch potentially faulty... VCDS may show an implausible signal code for the clutch switch... you could try 'resetting' the switch as its self adjusting and see if that rectifies the problem

check switch function in vcds around block 060 ish... cruise control channels to look at status of pedals etc

Ok will try when I get home I seen a thread on here that seems to think a split servo cable could have something to do with it does that sound plausible?
