S3 - No Radio reception

Hi all.

2003 Audi S3

Removed the original double din stereo and installed a JVC nav system - everything works fine power wise. Problem is I have no radio reception (FM or AM/MW).

In the wiring loom from the car is the male aerial plug, and attached to the aerial cable is another plug, brown colour, kind of a 90 degree angle. I have done some digging around on the net and seem to think its a Fakra connector.

Can someone shed some light on this for me ? Do I need an adapter to get the FM signal to my new head unit ?

You probably have both ISO & Fakra.You just need an ISO antenna adapter to feed power to the aerial amp:

Without this there is no power going to either aerial amp which is why there's no reception. The flying lead needs to be connected to the power antenna lead on the JVC.
